Shin Guard Sizing Guide: Finding the Perfect Fit for Muay Thai & Kickboxing

Shin guards are non-negotiable for Muay Thai and kickboxing. A shin guard that doesn't fit properly will slide around during kicks and leave gaps.

    How to Measure

Measure shin length (below knee to ankle) and calf circumference (widest part).

    General Size Chart

    • Small: Under 14" shin / Under 5'4" / Under 130 lbs
    • Medium: 14"–16" / 5'4"–5'8" / 130–160 lbs
    • Large: 16"–18" / 5'8"–6'0" / 160–200 lbs
    • X-Large: 18"+ / 6'0"+ / 200+ lbs

    Types of Shin Guards

Slip-On: Lightweight, snug fit. Strap-On: Thicker padding, adjustable β€” like the Titanium Shin Guards. Hybrid: Best of both worlds.

    Common Fit Problems

    • Sliding down: Tighten straps or size down.
    • Pressing into knee: Size down.
    • Ankle exposed: Size up.
