What to Expect at Your First MMA Class

The biggest barrier isn't fitness or toughness β€” it's just showing up. Here's exactly what to expect.

    What to Wear

Athletic clothing is fine for day one. As you continue, invest in fight shorts and a rash guard.

    The Class Structure

    Warm-Up (10–15 Minutes)

Intense β€” jogging, burpees, sprawls, hip escapes, bear crawls.

    Technique Instruction (20–30 Minutes)

Coach demonstrates a technique, then you drill with a partner.

    Live Drilling (10–20 Minutes)

As a beginner, you will NOT be thrown into hard sparring.

    Common Fears (Debunked)

    • "I'm not fit enough." Nobody is. MMA fitness is built by doing MMA.
    • "I'll get hurt." Beginner classes are designed to be safe.
    • "Everyone will be better." Every person started where you are.

The hardest part is walking through the door. After that, everything gets easier.
